Hello I am trying to figure out what a few thing are on my boat. there looks to be a horn/speaker on the hardtop as you can see in the picture attached, It is tan in color. is this standard equipment? how can I use it? there seems to be another VHF radio jack on the cockpit starboard wall that I do not know what that operates.

Thanks for the help!

The Boat is a 2000' 510 Sundancer.

All kidding aside it is a loud speaker tied to your VHF radio that you can use to speak to people on the dock/boat and it is used as a fog horn

That is hilarious, thank you! I'll have to take a look at the VHF. She will be the first one to know it works! ;)

I have one too. As mentioned, it's for the VHF. Should minimally function as a loud hailer. Some radios also have an automated / manual fog horn function. Some also have a listen back function so you can amplify sound from outside the boat, such as other fog signals or crew on the front deck.

My kids get a kick out of it when I use it to talk to them when they are running around on our inflatable. I've also used it suggest to other boaters that it's not polite to throw a wake 30 feet off my stern when I'm sitting in the no-wake mooring field and my family is in the water.
