The warning buzzer on my 2007 185 4.3L stays on constantly. The water pump is giving good flow through the cooling system. Anyone experienced this problem?

There are other reasons the warning buzzer will go off. Should go off for low drive oil level, oil pressure and water temp.

I would check your drive oil reservoir level.

Filling the outdrive supply tank didnt stop the buzzer, but when I unpluged the wire to the sender switch the buzzer stopped. I assume the switch stuck under the plastic tank. I intend to run it disconnected for a while to see if a little bouncing around might cause it to open. Thanks

If you filled the drive oil above the full line you will probably have drive oil pushing out of the cap when it gets hot. If it was low then you may want to check the oil for signs of water.

Fred... I think this could be a more common problem than Sea Ray is letting on. I have spoken to quite a few folks who own the 185's with 4.3's and many have experienced this. There are basically 3 causes for an alarm, low drive oil, low oil pressure and high water temperature. A bubble in the drive oil resevoir "could" trigger this, but I am not sure it would have an extended audible sound. Faulty sensor as well.. Could also be oil pressure, so i would check that out immediately (but I personally doubt thats it). In my case it was the temp sensor. It resides in my thermostat housing. There are actually 2 things in that spot. The sender for the temp gauge on you dash and the "sensor" which hooks to the audible alarm. I had to replace that piece since it was intermittent (in my case). Prior to doing that I also replaced my thermostat and water impeller in the drive. Granted, its probably a good idea to do that anyway, but when i took the imeller out, it was like new... oh well. IN your case, if the sound is constant, you will want to disconnect 1 of the sensors at a time to isolate.

Good luck and keep us posted.
