Mine cracked over the winter and when I took the blue plug it all cracked. I looked up the part and it's 863802T2 (closed-loop). The problem I have is that I can't find the part anywhere. It's back-ordered from Mercury until July (called all local suppliers and no one has it)! I have ordered one, but I can't wait until July until I launch the boat, so I'm looking for a temp fix.

In the manual, there are 4 different part # for the housing depending on the engine type. On Amazon, I ordered part# 863631T1 as the description states it would work. I received the part and when comparing the housing, they look identical. However, when took a closer look, I noticed that the new part has 3 hose fittings location are open for water flow. The original one I took out has one closed (the narrow one) and 2 closed. I only have 2 hoses to connect. If I install the new part I would have an issue with water coming out that end.

Any thoughts on how the water distribution works in closed cooling vs raw water cooling? Can I use put a cap on the open end and use a JB Weld to seal it or 3M 5200? any other ideas or thoughts?

I believe BtDoctor made one out of copper fittings.

Found the post and IM'd BtDoctor. I'm wondering if I could just use a 90 degree brass or aluminum pipe to connected the 2 hoses (1 1/4").

After a bit of research, I found this hose at Autozone. The hose is a radiator coolant bypass hose for cars. I also bought a Radiator repair kit which included the hose connectors. I used the original water housing to make sure the hose fits tight. Since this is a closed-loop, there is NOT a third hose connector. Would this work or NOT? the hose connector is 1 1/2". I'm trying I'm trying it tonight.

a Quick update. If you have closed-loop cooling and the water distribution housing breaks, the hose I created solved the problem. This will suffice until I received the original replacement part. The bypass solved replaced part 863802T2
