Sorry if this sounds more like a venting but this is one of the most frustrating projects so far.
I had to replace my water heater which I thought removing and replacing the unit was going to be the hard part, it wasn't. wiring the unit no problem. Now for the problem, the hot water line connection was leaking and I cannot find a fitting that works. The threaded end on the water heater is 1/2" NPT. The water hose is red and reads Seaflex water hose. I thought ok, simple I will use a barbed fitting and a 1/2" thread at the other end. The hose is not PEX and is pliable like a rubber hose with a white liner on the inside. However, I tried several barbed pieces and none of them will seal with hose clamps. Looking for any help or thoughts on where to get a fitting that will work. By the way, a 1/2' Shark Bite is to small and a 3/4 is to large.
Thank you

Take the 1/2” Sharkbite fitting and insert it. Place the hose clamp on the hose and tighten enough to keep it from moving. Next take a heat gun to the hose and clamp. Get it nice and hot and tighten the hose clamp with a nut driver. The heat is the secret. I have also used spring clamps with excellent success, but takes an odd size and I do not have the info right now.

Thank you for the heat suggestion and the link to the correct part. Looking forward to putting this project to bed.

After many tries to correct water line leaks I got the part number from sea ray customer service and my local marine max got the complete hose assembly made. No more leaks since

I received the pieces from Fresh Waters System and no luck. They are not the right size. I am afraid I might be looking at replacing the complete hose as well. I need to take a look and see how they ran it from the manifold in the V birth pass the master suite and into the engine room.

If you want to replace the hoses, your choice. Replacing the female connectors is much easier…..Ttmott did a complete write up of changing out the connectors on a 52DB and I did one on a 44DB. He used regular worm gear clamps with a heat gun and I used spring clamps. Here is a pic.
