Thanks for all on my water issue. Do you have a recommended shop manual for the lower unit removal. Maybe a website that showes the process. I will be pulling the boat out of storage this next week. Good to make repairs before I get excited about the upcoming season!! Doug

1.drive in neutral and trim down so the drive is close to the ground so you can let it rest with the trim arms off.
2.Unbolt the trim arms.Might as well pull the off. It's just easier to get them out of the way.Don't undo the SS hydro lines.Leave them alone.Just undo the 4 nuts.
3.6 bolts need to be removed on the drive. They are all facing you as you look at the drive from the rear. You can't miss them.
4.Little rubber tube on the under back side for your speedo. It has a plastic thing it attaches too.twist that about a 1/4 turn and pull it up.It pops right out.
5.Take the props off.It saves weight.
6.Start to pull the drive back. This is where it might get hard ro go real easy. The gimbal bearing like to hold the driveshaft. It may or may not pull out with the drive. You might have to work the drive around by letting it fall a couple inches against the transom/bellhousing stop.If that does not work then notice where the drive hits the transom assembly.Put a long metal rod right there while you are holding the drive up with your hands. The rod is just going to provide more leverage when you drop it.Don't go picking it up too far.A couple inches should do it.Those ears the drive hits are not the strongest metal and they can possibly break.

Thank you. Do I have to worry about the shifter cable or is there enough slack to allow me to pull the lower unit off a shot distance?
