Hi guys

I need to change out my water pump and had a really stupid question. When I remove the hoses at the back of the pump, will there be a constant stream of water coming from the inlet hose since the boat is in the water? I know whatever water is in the system will drain out but do I need to worry about anymore than that?

Thanks.

Bravos? Do you have the thru hulls for pickups or through the drive?

As long as the hose end is above the waterline, then no. Otherwise yes. Just have a plug handy for the end of the hose if you can't raise the end up high enough.

I have BIII’s and used a hand towel tightly twisted and stuffed in the intake hose. Drips a little but very easy to work with...
Verify your bilge pumps work prior to attempting this work though.
