I have weaver davits on my 380.

When I lift the dinghy out of the water, I tilt it down and rest it on the transom. The part that was resting on the transom in the up position, is the oar sleeves. I tied a small life jacket to the grab handle on the transom locker hatch, and layed the dinghy on to the life jacket. However, the life jacket was rubbing on my boat name decal from vibration, and ruined it...so I need a new solution.

I am not too excited about stand offs. I would need to make some modifications to my canvas, and I worry that the pads which I would need to glue on to the dinghy, may come loose.

I recently bought a fishing rod holder, that I am thinking about mounting on to the grab handle on the transom locker hatch, and rest the dingy up against the rod holder, but I am not too excited about a rod holder on the back of my boat either.

Any suggestions?

I had Weaver davits on two previous boats, a 370DA and a 410DA so very similar to your boat. My solution was to use two small fenders (maybe 3" diameter) tied to the handrail on the trunk locker hatch. If positioned correctly these two fenders would not touch the graphic and would enable the dinghy's oarlock to stand about an inch off the trunk locker hatch. It was not a perfect solution, but it worked for me.
