I mounted mine low so I can step over them with the dinghy mounted.

You need a swivel mount. There many out there. This is just one I found quick.

Weaver makes a motor mount that is pretty slick, but really expensive. I have a Yamaha 2 stroke 8hp that I leave on my dinghy most of the time. Its tipped up on its side which is not great if water drips down into the powerhead (especially if its salt) and can't be done with 4 strokes.
