I have a small issue. I entrusted my Westerbeke 7.0BCG (daihatsu ED10) cylinder head to a machine shop and they lost it. Thats a whole different discussion... sigh... however i was able to get a new head, however i need the camshaft. I could order it from westerbeke however I cannot figure out which of these serial numbers is located where? Maybe someone here could help.

Thats not a typo its.... 1S56257 in the parts manual... i have no idea where to find this secondary number, i have even looked in the comparable Daihatsu ED10 service manual for the car engine of the same make... If anyone could help it would be very much appreciated.

Yes discount Marine source has lots of westerbeke partsz my question is why There are two identical part numbers for the generator identified by a random serial number that isn’t listed on the generator casing anywhere that I can find.

I found it in a service bulletin it’s an obscure date code reference to when the engine was made by daihatsu… The first camshaft us for anything prior to that date in 1991. Since my engine is from 1990 the first camshaft will be the correct one.
