Can anyone identify which sterndrive this is. The boat is supposed to be a 1979. I an new to the Mercruiser brand. Proficient in OMCs. I know...backwards:huh:

Looks like my pre-alpha. Mine was rebuilt 5 seasons ago. Just keep it painted and greased now. Added the aluminum whale tail which works great.

That is a regular No 1 drive...pre Alpha...there are millions of them out there....sort of the "Small Block Chevy" of the boating business.

She's been fun to play with and I keep tinkering with her. The admiral is responsible me redoing the interior. She loves the boat as much as I do. We thought about getting a bigger one but Old Skool is just right for us. Maybe add a bimini top this year.
I replaced the old swim platform with this one I built. This one goes all the way across the back and the other was not more than just a large step. Another fun project.
