Snorkel around Black Rock/ Sheraton. Free and easy to get to. Park at the beach just south of Kaanapali walk south to end of beach and snorkel south. Check google maps and you'll see the cove just around the corner. or cut/paste lat/lon

My advise is also this... You only need to drive 1/2 the HANA HIGHWAY. That's enough... Find/ get out/ and swim at LEE"S POND it's great.

Hana Highway is very beautiful...and very curvy...and very long... once you go half way you've basically seen it all. Just my .02.

Let me know if you see something you want info on.... I did a lot of self-guided stuff.... no I didn't do the Volcano ride.
Have a Great Time!

We enjoyed snorkling at the Molokini crater,
walking Big Beach just before sundown,
and the Zip line at Skyline Eco.
I would try to get to pearl Harbor as long as you are that close. The history books never came close to making me feel the way I did when I stood there watching that oil sheen seep up from the Arizona.
Congrats on your sons wedding and have a great time

Don't know about the spelling but these are a few.
Lahaina harbor town is where a lot of bars and restaurants are. Kind of cool as it's an old Whaling town. Hookipa beach is on the way to Hana and is where a lot of the surfing and kite surfing go on. Hana as was said before is awesome. The 7 pools are there and they have a black sand beach. There is also the Haleakala crater which I never went to but they say it's pretty cool.
Ditto on the Molokini crater snorkeling tour.
Bottom line a lot of cool stuff to do there that would burn up a week easily. If you have never been you won't soon forget it.

Take a short trip over to Kaui, It's a very protected island, you will see the true Hawaii.
I took my wife and son in 1999 and we still talk about it.

Bike down from the top of Haleakala. There are several companies that rent bikes and take you to the top. Then wide open down hill for more than an hour.

Sorry- not LEE's POND--- CHINGS' POND.... I remembered on the way home yesterday....
