Hi all, sorry for the noob question, but Google and searching the forum isn't leading me anywhere.

Can anyone identify what this gauge is measuring? My owners manual does not have a matching icon and the gauge cluster graphics in the manual do not match my actual boat's gauges.

I'm guessing this is coolant level or pressure?

My boat has recently starting to show low reading on this gauge when it's cold... it will turn over and start up, idle for 10-45 seconds, then stall out. I repeat this process a handful of times and each time the gauge reading increases as the engine warms up. Once it reaches normal operating levels the boat runs perfectly fine and the gauge remains in the normal range.

Thanks in advance for any insights!

Good question. Although I don't have an answer for you I would have to think Dennis @Lazy Daze or someone with the same boat will chime in soon.

LOL... thanks guys. This is exactly the debate I've been having in my head after looking at those icons in the manual.

I think coolant level makes sense, since it would be logical that the level would rise as the engine temp rises....

"Coolant", I suppose, is technically the proper term - but not in the way you think, Burgleshams. As you know (I think you do?), you don't have coolant in the sense that you don't have antifreeze. However, whatever water you are sitting gets drawn through the engine and cools the engine. It's a very effective system, actually. That gauge is more commonly just referred to as "engine temp". Anywhere around the middle is good.
