I have a SeaRay 240 SunDeck

Do you know what this is in the engine compartment? Look in the bottom-left corner of the picture, and you'll see a "short black tube" with a ring and there is a "wire" connecting it to another part just to the right of it. The "short black tube" is loose (except for the "wire"). What is this thing (bilge pump???). I was thinking of taking the boat out today, but I'm concerned about it breaking off or possibly getting caught up in the belts. Please let me know your ideas. Thank you.

Looks like the "blank" for your sounder.

Need to upload a better pic please.

I tried, and tried, and tried...for about 90 minutes. I kept getting an error message telling me the pic image was too big, until I cut it all the way down to 20 kb. Maybe if you change your zoom level???

(Thanks for giving it a shot!)

it is the temporary plug for your transducer. Should you need to pull the transducer for cleaning or whatever, you would put that "plug" in the hole to prevent flooding.... bottom line is that it allows to you to work on transducer without pulling the boat.

it's a blank for your transducer, in case you have to remove your transducer you would fill the hole with the blank.

Its fine as is. Its connected to your transducer "think depth sounder" to your smartcraft. It just bounces around loose on the clip holding it to the transducer.

Thanks everyone! Glad to hear nothing is wrong. I bought the boat around 6 months ago, and I guess it's just randomly lied under the engine compartment where I couldn't see it...until now.
