What Temp does your engine run at?

I have MercCruisers 8.1's and all of a sudden the STB engine is running at about 170 while the PORT is at 145. Firstly what is the optimum temperutre and why would run run so much hotter then the other???

Should run about 170F once stabilized. The engine that runs 145 may have a stuck stat but even so if you run long enough it should reach about 170F.
