One inch wrench re-purposed for a soldier returning home from a sand pile over seas.

I heated and bent the knife into shape then ground the blade to 11 degrees on each side. The material is so tough that I all needed to do was sand with 250 grit then take it to the leather wheel using 3 grades of polishing compound.

You can shave with the edge and I put the point through a 3/4 inch dense rubber mat without leaving any marks what so ever on the knife. I have a friend who is making a custom sheath for it. I'll post a picture of it when he's done.

Been studying Viking swords. Might try to make one in the near future. After all it's in my heritage.:smt001

Now the sword, you could probably get me on.

Has to be a blunt edge to import it into Oz though!

Those are "display" only type pieces Ian, (fully functional with blunt edge) but what you do to them after you get them is up to you. I can build a spring loaded knife without the spring and on a separate invoice sell the spring. It will be up to you to install it or not.

In all fairness I am relatively new to the laws in various states and country's so I would need to do some research on import/export laws before I would commit to shipping anything. My single edged dagger I carry in PA is legal in some counties here and illegal in others so the law changes even by county. In some states they are completely illegal.

Right now I sell them special order with everyone being a custom collectible. (no copies, blunt edge). Now repairing knives are a little different. You send it, I repair it and send it back.

Ian, here are some pics of a Western knife I just repaired for a client.
An hours work restored this sentimental knife.

Thanks Havana, I'm still "honing" my skills. Very much a hobby but my kids and grandkids have picked up on the hobby. Some contributing to design ideas and others beginning to collect equipment for your own hobby development.

How cool is that!!

"Honing my skills"....what a great pun!

With that knife you built for the soldier coming home from the sandbox.....won't he cut his hand when he tries to use the wrench?

Just kidding, of course. That is a beautiful piece of work.

That's just awesome! If I sent you a wrench could you "repair" it for me????

Henry I sent you this e-mail with contact info:
Send me the knife and all the parts including the blade. Just because it was hot does not mean it’s bad. I may be able to re heat treat it. The steel content is still the same. I can reheat and case harden it. I may have some variations to it’s original appearance but it should be close enough it be of good sentimental and working value.

Bob, PM sent with details.

Mark, surprisingly the wrench was the some costly part of the build. Wrench cost more than Damascus steel.

Jim, I'm not trying to turn your site into my sales page but this is what happens every time I display my stuff. It's like no one else does this type hobby.

Thanks to all for your comments.

It is the same here, I have a set of Katanas, Dsiplay Only and one of the Lord of The Rings Swords, Display Only, and an 1879 French Bayonet Sword, I keep hidden!

However in Victoria, you have to have a Collectors Licence to even but the Display Swords......the gangs down there keeping meeting in parks to settle it Highlander style!

In NSW it is illegal to carry a knife at all.

Just sent you a PM Henry.
Let me know what you would like to do.

I will be in Canada this coming week so if you send it I will see it on Saturday the 22nd.
