What to look for?

Hello All,
I've put a bid on a 94 Sea Ray 300 DA and it has been accepted pending survey in a couple of weeks. Any information on the particulars of this boat or things to look for would be appreciated. I currently own a 91 Bayliner 2655 that is for sale. The 300 should give us much more room, and I'll be going from a single screw to twins which will give us more security on Lake Michigan. Any comments, thoughts appreciated.

My 93 had lots of leaks from day one. Look for stains on the interrior. Problem areas were port side of v berth, windows and under the windshield.

I think an engine survey is as important or more than a hull survey, with compression test. As SBW said unless done recently all bow rail screws, hatches, and portholes should be re-bedded. Ric
