I have a 2005 340 DA with the touch pad switches and would like to use the ACC 1,ACC 2 and can't fined the wires also the Fwd & Aft ACC. There is also a switch with a picture of a box with a squiggly line through it, what's that?

Depending upon what you have as far as GPS, Sonar / Radar, Auto pilot etc. that will determine what ACC button will control what piece of equipment. Member John "HAMPTON" on this forum had a very good understanding of how these pads worked, you might want to "PM" him if he does not respond to this thread. On my 04', the starboard side pad, the ACC1 controls the power for my gps, radar/sonar, and vhf radio. And if I remember correctly it also controls the auto pilot power too.

The wires you are looking for are in the harness bundle that comes off the appropriate EIM for the circuit you want to locate. Most seem to report that the unused wires are several inches in length off the harness plug and taped off inside the bundle. I had to take a bunch of tape off to find mine but the one I was looking for was there. Consult the electrical schematics in your manual to find out what is not used and what EIM it comes off of. The unused circuit wires should say something like "Terminate and Coil" on the schematic.

The Rectangle with the squiggle line is the Freshwater pump on some boats, like mine but is not used on your boat since the FW pump is controlled from the main DC panel. (that is unless someone tapped in to it for an acessory- unlikely but not impossible)

Thanks Guys I will rip into it in the morning !

I don't anything connected to these switched, I would like to connect my garmin to one. In the wiring sciatic it shows these wires as coil and tape, but where?

Carefully remove the tape off the EIM wiring harness from the harness plug itself back down the harness 5 or 6 inches. Once you can spread the bundle of wires out a bit, you should see the unused wires hanging loose within the bundle. The wire should be labeled with the circuit number and description shown on the schematic as well as have the same color of wire stated. If you dont see the end loose, look through the wires and try to locate the correct wire that way. If you find it, you may have to work your way down the harness to find the end.

There is a chance you may not have the wires present. Many have found them, including me but these harnesses were custom made at the factory so there is a possiblity they did not have wires crimped in to the plug for whatever reason. I think you should be able to find them though.

You may want to turn off the battery switches before hand. Just be careful- That bundle is tight.

By the way, if that does not work, or proves to be too difficult, you should be able to tap in to an "always on" circuit under the helm. My friend has an 05 340 that had a factory GPS. They just connected it to that circuit bar. It is fused but aways on. This is located under the helm right under the back of the steering assembly. Has 7 or 8 spade termminals along with connections for the Ground. Has fuses in it. Very easy access from the access panel under the wheel. His GPS and a couple other things are connected to that as well.

Yes I have the always on thing under there but my problem is I will forget and leave things on

I couldent stand it I went out and was able to pull the boot back without unplugging it and saw the numbers on the wires. Needed 535 & 536. 535 is fwd accy and 536 is that water pump thing. I pulled on the wires they were about 2 foot long but I got them. Tested out perfect! Thanks for the help.
