Where did everyone go?

Hurricane Idalia damage at marina in Dunedin, FL. Storm was a mild tropical storm for us so the issue here is an aging dock that couldn't survive 60-70 winds and 3 ft. storm surge. Glad I didn't have boat here.

It's never a comfortable sight seeing 15000 pounds of boat swinging side to side on a fork truck!

I will have to disagree with you on every level. Period. This may be true for you but I don't see it being for others.

If I only came here to get help, it would be a very long wait as my boat and mechanics have never really been discussed in any fashion here. I still learn from other people(s) and there idea's on what they are doing to their old boat, even though mine is one of the oldest on this site, especially of it's size.

I come here to vent in the way of helping others, on bad days it may be more of busting chops at times, but I still try and help out. In todays economy and the cost of new boat's hitting an all time high, I think this site will be used more then ever. Especially in the realm of electronics and the like, which the site's owner has a vested interest in, meaning BOEMarine.
Gorgeous boat - love to see older boats like ours well cared for!

Boat’s out of the water and moving on to other activities but I always try to stop in here at least once a day. Lately it’s been hard to get through. I tried before dinner and after dinner. Went down into my shop. Just came up for the night and now it works.

This is what has primarily kept me away.

This is still a web site that I go to all the time. I read almost all posts and learn from most of them. You need to have a lot of knowledge and experience to be a boater and to maintain and operate a boat. I have learned a huge amount here and will continue.

I spend more time here in the winter months for sure. I have decided to stay out of the holding tank BS though. You know what they say about never fighting a pig. You can’t win and you just end up smelling like their shit.

I do understand the server issues. Yesterday I could barely get on the site until around 7. It is an issue.

Other sites upgrade there sites, servers and their issues don't go on for weeks.

I finally got it, but a page load took over a minute. Most people won't wait that long, especially if it could result in a 500

This happens every year with tennis as well, at least where I live. All the leagues & tournaments have ended, it's getting cooler, it's getting darker sooner, and it's too early to go indoors for tennis.

Regarding the performance if this website, in general it's improved for me.

You should try watching this happen ever spring and fall :)

You are quite obviously are a man that doesn't shy away from "Gittin' her done".

On a slightly unrelated note . . . Ya gotta love a healthy, old Ford!

I'm still here, but boating has taken a back seat to daughter in high school and an aging mother that has been pretty sick for the last several months. Not much boating took place and I didnt break much (knock on wood).

But I still try to get involved, get things solved.

Similar to Dtfeld on boating taking a back seat. Both my folks are now in assisted living and it looks like my mom (dimentia) may have to be moved to memory care full time. Plus still working on getting my late wife's estate settled, and undergoing a kitchen remodeling, plus trying to get a house ready to put on the market - who has time?
