Howdy Folks. I've been lurking for a while picking up as much info as I can since I adopted a sweet little 1975 SRV 190 in Oregon Duck Yellow and Green.
Of course, being the hole in the water to throw my money into that it has become, I need a new engine block. I paid very little and the rest of the boat is in great shape, so no buyers remorse. Quite the contrary, I love it and just want to get it on the water.
The question is, which year engine blocks will work, and fit into the same engine mount holes. Does it matter if it is from a car or truck, as the truck engines should have the most torque? Or is this a function of the cam more than anything else?
Also, since it will be opened up anyway, are there any performance mods that I can do to beef it up, gruntier cam for instance? Any intake or exhaust tuning?
