We have a 2000 Sundancer 340. The generator ID tag is worn and we can only see info on the bottom two lines. No ser num., date of mfg. or Family Name. The Sundancer parts manual tells us we have a Westerbeke 4.5 kw 120/60 gas generator. Anyone know which model it could be? BCG, BCGB, BCGTC, or BCGTE. Thanks.

Got a picture? That would help.
I'm not familiar with the BCG, but the other 3 look pretty similar as they use the same engine, but the generators are different. BCGB is 1800rpm, the other 2 are 3600 and the E is for electronic ignition.

The only distinguishing feature I can see is the flame arrestor is a rectangular plastic piece. The others I see are round corrugated metal. Control panel below.

That's the same control as I have on my BCGB, and typical for all these models based on my research. I replaced a blown BCGTC 9.6, which has the round air cleaner with a BCGB 7.0 with the square plastic air cleaner. The BCGB has a multi pin connector for connection to the boat wiring, and the BCGTC control panel is built into the generator housing and hardwired to the boat harness. They both use the same engine, but run 1800 (BCGB) or 3600.

I’m 4.5kw.

I’m 4.5kw.
The BCGTC does not come in a 4.5, but the BCGB does. My point was how to distinguish between the models using my experience with the 2 as a reference. Your control panel appears to be a BCGB.
You can find all the manuals and sales brochures on the Westerbeke site, including old models.

Thanks.
