Windlass chain size on 400 Sundancer

Lost my anchor. How do you tell which chain size the windlass uses? Marina says 5/16", but wanted to verify.

In the 400DA parts manual under "options" page 32 (last page) it says "Chain Grade 40 Galv 5/16 200"

make sure you confirm the type of chain. I had to switch chain when I installed my new Lewmar to calibrated chain.

The chain size should be stamped into the Gypsy. I just bought some for my loftrans progress 1, it was 5/16 G4

I just purchased 150' of 5/16 G4 last summer. Get ready to pucker and have a loading dock where you can receive it.

I found the size in the manual. the plate on the windlass is illegible. I know it has to be calibrated chain, but are there more than one type of 5/16 calibrated chain and it must be specific.

Mine came from Port Supply, which is West Marine. You just have to be a dealer to buy from them. My marina got it shipped next day to my boat with no shipping charges.
