Hello everybody! I have a 2006 290 Sundancer. As you can see from the photo the door that covers the windlass was missing when I purchased the boat. Can you give me ideas on what I need to replace? Also what it looks like covered? Thanks in advance.

Why cover it? Most boats don't have covers and look ok without them.

Make one out of Sunbrella

Sunbrella is the fabric that's typically used to make biminis. There appears to be some sort of frame around the windless area, if it were mine I would take a piece of Sunbrella and fit it to the area and seam it, then use snaps to attach. Use the same color as your bimini.
 
This is what it looks like on my 2008 290 Sundancer.

Attached are some screen shots of the parts manual - look at part numbers 2, 3 & 4.

It's a long shot, but the Sea Ray customer service # is 866-971-6250.

Btw, you might enjoy viewing the "official 290 Sundancer Thread" which focuses on the 2006-2008 290 Sundancer.

How do I locate the 290 Sundancer forum you referred to??
 
I believe you use the search function (the magnifying glass icon) click more at the bottom and search “official 290 Sundancer thread” after choosing “search titles only”. Then scroll through results until you find it. Then you can choose to watch the thread. You may enjoy reading all the posts beginning with the earliest.

Were you able to locate the deck cover for the anchor?

Still working on it. I contacted marine max (local sea ray dealer). I guess the cover is discontinued but one of the CSR is doing some digging for me. I guess if I can’t find a fiberglass cover some have suggested a canvass cover? Hopefully I’ll hear from her this week.
 
Although there weren't a ton of these models made....Look for a salvage boat yard. With all these storms there has to be some that will be parted out.

I happen to think this boat 2006 290 Sundancer is one of the best looking boats on the water. Was it not received well? Why wouldn’t there be a lot of them around??

I have no clue. I enjoyed mine for 12 years. And if my family hadn't grown to more than was comfortable I would still be in it. I went bigger to a 320 for for more space.
