I am purchasing a 2005 Sundancer 300. When you turn on the windshield wipers, they both pop off. This would be the complete arm popping off. Anyone have this issue and know what I could do to fix this? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

My amberjack 290 (same year) has wipers that do nothing to help with rain, way too slow and don't maintain contact with the glass. Totally useless in the rain. I'm going to use rain-x this year.

I know that doesn't answer your question but didn't want you to feel like you were missing out on anything

As far as contact goes, the springs in the arm's are probably fatigued, along with the hinges being corroded.

Yeah I am thinking I'm going to be doing the same thing. Thank you.

Finaly found some more information and what I believe is that the screw holding the arm onto the pivot knob is either missing or super loose or the inside of the arm where the pivot knob goes into is stripped causing it to fall off when turned on. Will have to take a look when I am at it next time.

If yours is like mine, there is an insert/cap that goes on top of the motor shaft and then that fits into the arm pocket. There is a set screw that holds it on. On mine the shaft spines had worn so much that it pivoted on the shaft and the set screw didn’t hold it on. I temporarily removed the spring on the arm and filled the pocket with JB Weld to fill out the pocket again. Once dry I reconnected the spring. So far it’s working. 2years so far.

That’s a good idea! I’m going to see if that might be an option for me as well! Thank you!
