As anyone accessed the gear shift box on a 280? Mine is slightly loose and I want to tighten it down to the fiberglass. Looks like it's bolted in vs. screwed in so I'd have to get in underneath

cover does come off but be very careful with it the tabs can break. I believe from there you'll be able to see the mounting screws. See attached doc for the shift instruction manual
Thanks for the manual - it's one I don't have. I did pop the cover off and saw the 4 screws that are holding the shifter there. the 2 forward screws are loose and the 2 aft screws are secure. Are you sure these are well nuts holding it in?cover does come off but be very careful with it the tabs can break. I believe from there you'll be able to see the mounting screws. No access panel underneath - I'd have to remove the entire side panel (big project)sorry I'm not sure on that, are you able to remove any access panels from the underside and get a hand in there? You could probably feel for nuts if there's a possibility it was thru bolted.
