If you want to save some coin you can make your own "bridal" with a 5/8" line and a hook.
Run the line through the loop on the hook, hook to the chain, tie off the line to both front cleats, let out chain, drink.
Kirby? Only tourists go to Kirby. You need to hit the Tip A Few next time you're in town...or Odd Side Ales/Grand Armory if you're more a craft beer kind of guy. Better yet, the American Legion - you need to save those pennies to drive that boat ALL the way around this fine state.
Must be more to the story. If he could get the motor repaired for $40k and sell it for $200k, he'd do it. Unless he hates money...which I guess does happen sometimes.
I've seen fresh water 48db's of that vintage selling for $300k (well, listed for $300k). Even $200k seems light if that thing...
I tried to convince Blue to bring it around on the water in another thread. Trucking it direct was getting 80+% of the vote here on CSR. They all lack emotion and impulsive tendencies.
Prevailing west wind...you just gotta get yourself up around the top and its all relaxation from there...
Congrats @Blueone. If you get kicked out of Tom's slip in the coming days, let me know. I'm not launched yet, waiting on new isenglass still. My slip is a bit shorter than Tom's but it's plenty wide :)
And that is a sweet boat!!! My wife and I went through @TNT8808 's boat a couple years...
Very pragmatic but lacks the emotional "hey, wouldn't it be cool to run all the way around Michigan" flair :)
If I see a 480 getting stripped in the coming weeks I'll see if they'll let me onboard so I can hide a bottle of booze somewhere.
When successful, are you going to bring the new one around on its own bottom or have it hauled? I was looking at a boat in Port Clinton. That wold be a fun trip if you've got the time.
Spray on? You guys must have some kind of aim. No fricken way am I attacking a repair with spray on anything. Half my transom and platform would end up covered in adhesive :)
