Based on riding on a friends 390 with base gas engines, i think with the props reconditioned, which was time (and part of my OCD), we're pretty close to or slightly better than his. Glad we had things baselined tho, affords me to know what we have.

Good catch on the motor mount, i've heard this before. These engines are hard on plugs for what ever reason, guess as much as it likes to eat fuel it also likes some substance too :)

We had thought about it as it offers some conveniences ... and its in there now for the winter, but most likely not.

This was our project we have a small vibration, so … shafts measured came out ‘perfect’, cutlass bearing is good, decided to pull props and get them reconditioned. Won the award at Sassy where we store her on the most people required to take off port prop… I am thinking they have never been...

Bow in? I think we are likely in same place considering to bow in this year.. also was part of our rationale to buy a small center console … to check out the lake before we took the big gal out.

Still working towards completing how we'd like our boat... this last year, removed the ability to use DirectTV and last week, finally pulled the 'boob' off the hardtop...one less place for spiders to web, now to the fiberglass work to fill the holes and make her good. If anyone would like this...

I don’t have diesels to compare but our 8.1HOs are just fine… had 15 people on our boat this summer got up on plane like it was just my wife and I. Diesels certainly would be more fuel efficient, but we get plenty of smiles per mile.

I gave up on our order of a 315 after 6 months, swapped to Vesper Cortex. Garmin bought Vesper in January likely why they are not addressing 315??

I believe he used barnical buster and or a thinned muratic acid with a ~20 min soak time. Wish I wrote it down, tyranny of the woulda coulda shoulda.

The flow out the cabin outlet is less than our galley as well, but not by a lot. There is a cleaner you can add to the strainer and let it soak before it’s flushed out - I’ve not done that yet but have been considering to dig into it. We looked into a 380 2 years ago the owner of that boat did...

    390/40DA Starboard Wiper Motor

All I can say is when I installed the first motor, its park position and wipe pattern were exactly opposite of what I needed on port side and am so glad I kept wiper up in service position on that test - its definitely a starboard wiper motor. The new port motor which i ordered thru Colony...

    Lake Norman and boat sizes

The boat has been fresh water its entire life. Very relevant question, being in salt water doesn't excite me for some reason.

    Lake Norman and boat sizes

Am being courted by a company who would like me to relocate from Mi/Lake St Clair to W-S. They know I am very partial with our 390DA and have said they’d freight it. I know nothing of Lake Norman (their suggestion), seems like the 390 might be over kill there. In boating season, we live on...
