Here are a couple of images.. you may be right.. one side of the boards are bolted to a steel angle and the other side looks like it screwed into another piece of wood. Our main question is if these 2 boards are needed to support the boat deck. thank you for your help Roger

Good day everyone. We just purchased a Laguna 20 1989, and we have a question regarding the battery compartment. Can the 1/2" plywood walls which hold electrical main switch be removed or they there also for structural support for the boat? thank you for assistance. Roger
