07 kohler 5ecd

I’m thinking it’s got to be either the pump or the injector
I have both of them and the 02 sensor in my shopping cart as well as new fuses and a “spare kit” with all the maintenance parts in it
Time to order up I guess
I have a set of fuses for a 2009 5ecd that I no longer own. They’re still in original plastic bags. Have nearly thrown them out many times. PM me an address and I’ll send them to you free of charge if you want them.

I’m up in Canada
Probably more of a pain for you to send those here
I’ll just order some
Thanks tho much appreciated

No worries—you are probably right. Sending the best of luck your way in finding your root cause.

So….. any update?
Nothing yet
Removed fuel module took it apart checked for gasket issues and cleaned everything
Got it back in the generator
Started first try
Died 3-4 later sc69 code
Then back to not starting and uu code

I have a injector and O2 sensor and fuel filter in order but being in Canada they’ll take a few weeks

Have you checked the running oil pressure?
If that is good checked/changed the oil pressure switch?

New injector came in yesterday
Threw it in today and everything works
Ran it for a good hour under load
Should have replaced it ages ago thought having it cleaned was good enough
Months and months of headaches solved
No more sc69 shut down either
Thanks for all the help guys
I’ll be back soon as I’m sure it’ll crap out again

How much was the injector? I've had a 5E, a 5ECD and now a 5E, all in different boats. VERY happy I have the dumbed down, simpler 5E in my current boat...

So you have good fuel pressure, both static and running.
I suggest disregarding the 02 sensor fault because it is most likely due to the quick auto shutdown and should not cause an auto shutdown based on the info I have read.
So I suspect a problem with the voltage reg (I know you mentioned earlier that you tested the unit with a know good one so probably not that) , a pcb computer problem, loose connection, brushes and finally something internal to the genny.
Easier to troubleshoot when my hands are on it…
Sorry I couldn’t help more.

an ECD won’t shut down due to an ec69 error code?
I’ve been getting shut downs randomly from 30 minutes to 2 hours, and it throws an ec69 code. Checked and replaced the o2 sensor, and now I’m still getting the ec69 code, but sometimes a EC62 code. There’s a normal amount of water flow coming through the exhaust. Generator runs really rich when it is running. Power output seems steady.
