I acquired a very nice cockpit table from someone who said that it came out of a 2000 260DA. Unfortunately, it uses a very non-standard post and I am having trouble locating a pedestal base for it. The post is 1.5" or 38mm and is tapered. The pedestal base on my boat is the standard 2.3" and I want to try to replace it. The handle of the table mount is marked "Zwaardvis" but my emails to the Zwaardvis customer support alias haven't been responded to. I've tried the obvious sources without any luck: Great Lakes Skipper, Flounder Pounder, SeaRayMan13, etc. Any thoughts? I am looking for something similar to this:

I'd look at a RV store. I think pop-up trailers use that small tapered base.

You can get the tapered posts thru iboats.com or go directly to Garelick Industries, which manufacturers them

Check eBay, too. I got a tapered base from there a while back.

Garelick manufactures and impressive variety of posts and bases but they are all larger - 2.375, 2.875, 3.5 and 4.0. All of the iBoats bases are the standard 2.375 and 2.875. I really did a lot of research on this before I posted.

CABELAS has the base you need I saw it yesterday at the Cabelas outpost in Saginaw Michigan. In the boating isle by the boat seats.

Here's an option. Get a whole kit like this. Then, just replace the base on the bottom of the table and the floor and you have a brand new matching set for just a few bucks!

Thanks Shaun - I'd actually considered the possibility that I might need to swap out the pedestal to match my existing base when I bought the table. The pedestal and post are so nice that I was trying to salvage them. I'm going to pursue Wayne's idea at an RV store this week and if that doesn't pan out I will go the other way. I did finally hear back from Zwaardvis (a Dutch company and they were closed for a three week summer vacation) and they don't make a flush mount base, only a wall mount.

As I previously said, Zwaardvis responded that the sole option is a 38mm wall mount which won't work and nobody has it in inventory in the US anyway. I ended up using the table mount and post from the original table. The Zwaardvis mount post is much nicer but using it got to be too hard. Thanks for the suggestions.
