I would just do a lot of searching on the internet. I have a 1972 SRV 190 and finding parts for the engine (a mercruiser 165) is easy but finding anything else requires either a replace with new, or a long search on ebay or craigs.
Occasionally people will part out an old boat, but usually you have to buy a junker for a few hundred bucks to get the parts you want.
