1987 270 Amberjack anchor locker

I'm restoring a 1987 Amberjack. I've redone the Hatch, Anchor locker hatch and Bow pulpit. Now the problem. Inside the locker there is a "tube" molded into the hull. It goes down thru the locker floor and exits into the interior below the mirror and into the base of the cushions. a couple inches below that exit hole is the thru hull bolts from the Winch eye. problem is, there is dampness at that hole which makes the material on the "wall wet. I have not found anywhere the water is coming in. HELP!!!! obviously the first problem is findin and fixing the cause and secondly, determining what that "tube" is for

Tube is your anchor locker drain. Water from wet rope has to go somewhere. Nowadays they usually drill drain right outside rope locker but some boat manufacturers still install tube which drains right under floor and ultimately being discharged by bilge pump.

Well I thought of that but front of the locker is open with a mirror hinged in front of it and the top of the tube is much higher that that opening so I cant see how water could ever get high enough to go down that tube.

Hmm. But is there any drain? You need one
Maybe tube was installed to easy run wires for optional windlass, front speakers, etc or maybe is not even factory installed? If there is a drain then plug the tube and forget about it. If there is no drain then you need to make one or one day you end up with wet bed.

I know this is a dead thread, but just wondering if anyone knows anything about this? cause i woke up with a wet bed. i was thinking about snaking the pipe to see if it goes to the bilge,, then if it did i was going to drill drain holes at the bottom of the pipe.

just an update for anyone who needs it. there is a drain hole in the locker. mine was covered with so much junk you couldnt even see it.
