1992 240 bowrider 454 bravo 1

I have a 454 Mag on a Bravo I and have found that a ski prop will make the boat faster but at the expense of getting underway(cavitates).
Difficult to have speed at both ends.

From the sound of your post, you have not even tested the top speed of your boat. It is not possible for anyone to give you any prop advice until you tell us the top speed at WOT, the RPM at WOT and your current prop. specs.

If you don't want to spend $4-5K, I would invest in a NOS system and a higher pitch prop. Your motor would remain stock and reliable, and the NOS would give you the drag racing help you seem to need.

My honest opinion is that 50 MPH is quite fast for your hull design. I would not push it much past the upper 50's, maybe low 60's.

when he got his ss it was pulling 53mph he did a couple of goodies(wont tell) and now he gets 58mph,i can tell you this,he did not drop 5000 in his boat to gain that 5mph that is a promise.

I know this thread is old, but I couldn't let this go.

Junny, you better be thankful that people are still helping you on this thread after the way you talked to and insulted Firerooster. You asked a question and he gave you an answer.

If you decide to go too much faster I hope you think you're hull can take it other wise I hope you don't take your family out on it. Also, yes you will need more than 1 prop. The prop you're using for speed will NOT get out of the hole well for pulling skiers and you'll put a lot of stress on the engine and drive. Boats are nothinig like cars.

Also, whats this whole keeping secrets about performance?? This isn't NHRA where it's your job to win races. This is a friendly community forum where we can all give each other tips about what works best for the boats. If you're "friend" did his "goodies" and got that much speed and won't tell, number 1, I don't think he's that good of a friend, or number 2 he's full of BS.

That is all. Carry on
