Not sure how, perhaps one of the kids pulled too hard on the spray head, but my transom sprayers started leaking water from the hose. I decided to replace the hose and ducked down under the engine cover with my trusty wrench. First mistake.
I discovered that the metal cover on the line is not integral to the hose; its just covering a cheesy blue plastic hose. Found this out when the metal cover came apart. Plus I now have the added bonus that i dropped a wrench behind the water tank while trying to unscrew the transom sprayer water hose. Choice language was involved.
I keep looking at the way the brass fitting attaches to the plastic water fittings. It is reminiscent of the way the kitchen sprayer attaches under the sink in my home. Just a plastic bayonet type mounting; push in the fitting and when you pull back, the plastic seals against the brass fitting. To release you push the plastic fitting back in and gently wiggle the brass fitting out. Is the Sea Ray situation the same?
If not, how do you detach the cursed hose? And how do I get my wrench back from behind the water tank? Bloody big magnet on a stick is my next guess.
Thanks.
