2001 weekender 225 cuddy hatch

I have a 01 225 the bottom screws have come out of the slider on the bottom track. I was wondering if this was able to be repaired with out removing the helm. any info or links would be greatly appreciated.

There are several videos on YouTube. I've seen it done both ways. Neither is easy, but I'm in the same predicament and I'm going to remove the helm.
