Do you have to put pink antifreeze to winterize or can i just drain the engine of water (Fresh Water)

Ya, was double checking, thanks! You can do either really. There are two schools on this:
1 - air doesn't freeze, so just drain it
2 - All the water might not drain out, plus the internal surfaces of the manifolds/engine water jackets can corrode and rust, so filling with antifreeze is an extra protection step. Use the pink stuff, but on the ethyl alcohol (alchohol based), use Propylene Glycol based.
I am school 2, I drain my block and manifolds, then pour the antifreeze in, I think the antifreeze helps to protect from rust/corrosion and it just makes me feel better - never a fan of using the running engine to draw the antifreeze in, too easy to mess this up trying to time the opening of the thermostat etc.
** So this it it! It's May, no more winterizing discussion until September -- got it?
