Where would I find out what a 1990 Sea Ray 220 DA would cost? I am looking at getting a bigger boat and wanted to know what mine would go for.

What would be a better place to sell a boat like this? I can sell it in Colorado or in Indiana. I am thinking Indiana because it is closer to the Great Lakes...

I picked up a 1990 220 DA about a month ago. I got it for $4500 in the Lansing MI area. I would say that everyone shopping now is looking for a good deal. I know it's killing me to have the drive wrapped and light bulbs in the engine compartment. Just trying to hold off the freeze for a ride.

Hey Guys! A 1990 220DA would go for around £12,000 in the UK which is around $16,000. Its a risk, but you could ship the thing over to the UK and sell it over here! I am sure it'd cost you a bit in shipping but probably still make a profit!

I just picked up a '89 220 two days ago. He was asking 8900.00 and he took 8000.00. That was with a '97 LoadRite roller trailer. He was a motivated seller though. Selling his house and relocating. He put in quite a bit of money into it since 2005, including an new outdrive and riser/exhaust. He even gave me the staggering bill receipts. I know someone on here has a signature "boats like 100.00 bills". Man, is that on the money!

Nice looking boat! I love the lines of those 220 DA's! Hope to own one someday.

I'm a motivated seller so hopefully she goes soon.

I just looked at your ad. The only suggestion I have is clean it up really good and re-post with fresh pics. On the pics you post I can see that your boat is in great shape for it's year. That said, clean those windows up, buff the fiberglass to get the scuffs in your second picture taken care of. Get a good (303) vinyl cleaner and wipe/clean the entire cockpit vinyl down. It's those little details that send a message to your prospective buyer that's she's well taken care of. Just like selling a house you want to accentuate the features and cleanliness, proving proper ownership. I haven’t seen your engine bay, but a thoroughly clean bilge with no leaks and recently changed motor/drive oil are all things new buyers (at least smart ones) will look at. It will set your boat apart from the rest.
I’ve always had success keeping my boats in top shape so that when I’m ready to sell I won’t get talked down because of condition. I then spend that extra detail effort prior to selling to make sure that’s the case.
Best of luck.

I just paid 8k for the same boat, and I had to add another 2k for the camper canvas, but around here everything is more expensive, including boats.

You know the economy is bad when you can't get 8200.00 for a boat as nice as your's. The trailer alone was probably over 3k when new.

I would mention that you have the full camper canvas in your description, if that's what you have. It's a little unclear in your description. Maybe take a photo of it with the canvas up. That really is impressive to a lot of people. It totally changed the look of mine.

Plus, it looks like it's a freshwater boat, which is a big plus for any prospective buyer.

As a last resort go with Ebay. I sold a '96 Camry wagon last week, that wouldn't sell on Craigslist. I didn't get what I thought I would, but times are tough and people want a new car or boat for little $$$$!!!!
