I bought my 93 230 DA earlier this year. Among the many things I look for is the condition of the hull striping and rub rail. This may seem picky but I feel it is a real quick indication of the care taken of the boat when docking etc. Lots of marks, tears including gouges in the gel-coat tell me how careful the owner has been. And, also , how much care has been put into the boat in general.
The 230 is my fifth boat and to get to this stage I have looked at probably hundreds.
There certainly is a lot of room for interpretation when an owner is advertising in excellent or pristine condition. It is unbelievable how some treat such a significant investment.
