Guys... Thanks for the advice on the wire routing. After removing the aft cabin side panel the wire snake went right through.

1 more question. I have a Simpson Lawrence windlass and on the paperwork it calls for a 35A Breaker isolator. On the windlass motor it states that its a 12 V 80 A motor. Does this seem right? and should I put an 80A breaker or a 35A? I cant find a 35A Klixon push button anywhere that will fit in my 270 DA,,, What should I do?

Which model SL windlass?

I installed a Simpson-Lawrence Horizon (Lewmar) 600FF and I used a 50amp breaker per the instructions. I found a good source for the Klixxon breakers - not sure I have it at work but I know it's on my home PC.

I would go by the documentation - not a stamp on the motor. A 40amp should be fine as long as your wiring is good.

I am running about 25ft of #6/2 wire. The crazy thing is that Sea Ray service is telling me a 35/40 amp is too small and will flip pre-maturely. The New 280DA has the same windlass that I'm installing yet they only have a 5A breaker on the boat in the Showroom...??

Simpson Lawrence doesnt help at all... I bought an 80A at Sea Ray based on a suggestion of a 20yr Tech, Sea Ray veteran's advice.... I guess I will try it out and see what happens. Thanks for the advice.

5A breaker is for the solenoid switch circuit only - not the actual power to the windlass.
