i have a 1999 new to me sea ray 280 ss..
this boat has a vacuflush head with a masserator and an overboard discharge handle in the bilge.. first question is
how does the system work,,, what does the key in the head do,,, i know i have to disable the overboard discharge handle
but do i still need the masserator?

but how does the toilet run without using the overboard discharge,,, do i have to turn the key on,, there are two
buttons by the key ,,one says maserator and the other say
holding tank,, but they do not seem to do anything

i know i have to turn on the water pump on the dash

any help would be great

you should have a circut breaker switch that syas "head" make sure that is on. next make sure your water pump is on, next turn on your key on your vacuflush this will tell you the status of your system as in empty, 1/2 full , full. If you select your holding tank then that is where the waste is going to. be sure to add conditioner to your tank and keep it pumped out.

The key is to start the macerator. To use the system when is has not run in a while, turn the key to the first position and hold the flush pedal down and let the water run until the pump starts. After that, for normal use, turn key on, use toilet, and flush. You will hear a pop sound when you flush, and then the pump starts running. I usually wait until the pump stops, and then turn the key back off.

If you turn and hold the key past the first position, it activates the discharge.

I have all of the origianl manuals for the system. Let me know if you want a copy.

No problem. Glad to help. That's what this site is all about.

I was lucky enough to get all of the system's manuals from the original owner. So, if you need anything else, let me know.
