They look great!!! Can't wait to see it with the floorSteps finished with 2 coats of floor Urethane and installed on boat. I am waiting on some 3m acrylic 2-sided tape to install my Treadmaster non-slip strips on the steps.
I think they came out nice and with the soon to be installed new floor will really make the cabin "pop".View attachment 97425
Have you considered using the clear grip tape strips? Skateboard shops sell it and you can get it on line too. Strips near the edge would make them non-skid and would allow you to see the wood through them.Steps finished with 2 coats of floor Urethane and installed on boat. Finally was able to install my Treadmaster anti-slip strips on the new steps. I used 3m Acrylic 2-sided tape and it went on easy. Used a small floor roller to make sure there were no air bubbles.
Flooring should be shipping soon and I am anxious to get started on floor.View attachment 97734
I went to boat and double checked....factory flooring is actually 1" so plus 1/2" plywood subfloor I am adding, it makes a total of 1-1/2" total thickness, so 1-5/8" screws would be correct.View attachment 95909
None...Gallf1,
Is there any risk with going 1/8" through the fiberglass flooring with the 1-5/8" screws?
Your stairs came out fantastic. I'll be following with a similar project next year more than likely. Who thinks carpet in a boat is a good idea?!?Finally was able to install my Treadmaster anti-slip strips on the new steps. I used 3m Acrylic 2-sided tape and it went on easy. looks great!FINALLY....got the flooring and started today. I started on the hardest part (under cabinet/fridge) and came out to the center line. I took my time with the templates I had previously made for the plywood subfloor and tweaked as necessary to get a tight fit on the flooring against the carpet.
With carpet on both ends of the planks that takes care of the 1/4" gap they recommend for floor movement (carpet compresses easy).
Tight fit against carpet looks really finished and no need for toe molding.
