I'm new to the SR boards, happy I found it.
I knew if I owned my boat long enough it would be a classic!
I Purchased the boat new in 1988. 39' EC Twin Diesel 3208's turbos. Located in Marina Del Rey, Ca. Also a mooring inside Avalon Harbor, Catalina.
My children were raised with boating being a major activity. The boat came with a VCR (since replaced) - children have not been able to rid their minds of the JAWS movie i played one night. (still have the tape, VCR long ago replaced).
First the questions:
1. Would anyone know how to remove the cabin sliding plexiglass door. It's a mystery. Video would be fantastic.
2. The two rail rolling hardware are, must be replaced. Any thoughts on where to source them or have them custom made if possible or another creative solution. I did remove them. Photos are scary. this is the GOOD ONE!
I greatly appreciate any help with the above.
I picked Diesel over gas for safety and believing I wouldn't change boats often if at all. Over the course of 30+ years I've gotten to know many systems first hand. Dropped props, broken shaft, black smoke from the exhaust, abrupt engine shut down (learned about a knee hitting a switch early on), leaks, pumps, lights.
Happy I found this group. David
