460 DA Owners Thread

A promariner for now but I’m ordering a Victron or newmar still deciding. There are always threads on here about promariner but I’m in the business now and these things are junk at best.I’m think a 60-80 amp charger would be best. Does anyone know off hand if our chargers are 120v or 240v?
Nice job on the improvement!! Your injury sounds like a Gary (Four Suns) moment.
I have a 1250 (12V) converter for the main batteries and a 2460 (24V) converter for the thrusters/platform. They both have 120V AC input.

Since we are on the battery charger topic. The promariner chargers only have the rated output across all the banks. So if you have a 60a charger that’s in total. Most of the high quality chargers are not like this and have the rated output on each bank so 60x3

And I probably shouldn’t tell this part on the internet but we’re all friends right? I was drilling the last holefor the 3/8” all thread rod last night and well… I drilled a 3/8” hole in my finger trying to make sure I didn’t hit the freshwater line under the battery tray. I’ll save you from seeing the pictures of that but I’m down a digit for the time being and on some hefty antibiotics and some pain med.

I made myself come finish the project today so at least I have something to show ;)

Going from memory here ... That aint the first time you've used your finger as a drill bit cushion either

Once bitten twice shy… awww it takes some longer then others. ;)

Hi All,
Hope everyone is doing well! The count down is on in Northern Michigan, I only have 68 days to go until launch day. The last item to be installed on the boat is a bow thruster, pretty excited to finally get that done.

Did a little cockpit trim yesterday. Took a while to get it, but it finally came in. A little color to offset all of the fiberglass white. :)

Has anyone ever improved the auto sofa movement? Particularly the one upside in the cockpit. But all three seem to have the same issues with needing assistance. Curious if anyone has made it work smoother and with our having to help it up? And maybe without the grinding noise...

You are correct, the "archive parts" lists the props as 23 X 27, but our boats were not delivered from the factory that way. My 2002 and probably Joint Custody's 2001 both came with 23 X 26 H cup Hi Torq 4 blade Nibral props originally. Similar 460 models of that vintage had the same, at least the few I've checked. I will consult my original parts list sometime and see if it agrees with the archive list but I'm curious, was your 2001 boat originally propped at 23 X 27? Is it still?
You probably are aware of this but our 460 with Cummins 6CTA was over-propped from the factory, if you follow Tony Athens at Seaboard Marine.

hoping to get some follow-up on this topic. I’m going to order a spare set of props for my 2001 this week. I have 6CTAs. So is my best choice the 23x26 H cup hi torq 4 blade? Nibrial? Anyone have a recommendation on where to order them? Would love to find some used ones to save a few bucks but concerned about condition...

Well, we are 6 months from first ordering a hydraulic platform, and close to finishing the install. Yes, It's been expensive, but I know we are going to get huge enjoyment from adding it! We dinghy a lot and towing the dinghy didn't work for us.
Boat has been at the boatyard for 3/12 weeks so far... Can't wait to get back on Escape!

Here's a couple photos, one with the canvas all on, and one without, just the back. That one was taken before we owned it, I don't have anything better right now.

I deal with the Prop Shop in Mukiteo WA 425 353 5527. Great people and turn around time on any orders has been lesser than a week.

I am sure there are plenty of shops closer to you.

23 X 26 H cup Hi Torq 4 blade Nibral props.

Funny, that’s the only shop I use! And I have one 15 minutes from me locally. I just wrote them a check this morning for my second set. They were awesome to deal with as usual!

What did you do with the old swim platform? My platform reads extremely wet where it attaches to the transom. I had Dry Boat dry it out a year ago and now it is totally wet again. I might need to replace it. Anyone have ideas on what to do?

Hi Jeff, I had it listed here on CSR, really no nibbles. We told the boat yard we didn't want it. They may still have it. I'll check with them.

The PO hit a sailboat and did damage, a few months before we bought it. We waited on the purchase until it was fixed. $13,000 worth.

I am in Portland, OR.
