88' 460 EC - Port Engine Starter

Does anyone here have or have worked on a 460 EC with 6v92's in her? My port engine starter or solenoid crapped out and needs to be serviced. It is under the exhaust manifold and next to the fuel tank. The manifold can't be removed due to no room to pull it out.

My only thought, baring pulling the engine, is to try and go in from the front. I'd have to remove the heat exchanger and alternator etc. But that might be doable though still very tough to get to.

Any thoughts from anyone?

Well I managed to get to the wiring at least and was able to tighten the connections. I had a friend guide me with a an inspection camera and that worked. The solenoid to starter connection was a half turn loose, after that it started right up! I lucked out with this one.

I think I might still try to replace the starter over the winter. Maybe ...
