Regarding 1997 400 DAs powered engine hatch. Is there any "override" option for raising/lowering the hatch without battery power? In second year of ownership and at this point still leave the hatch open during winter storage. Always unhook batteries for cold long winter so see no way to shut/ open the hatch with out battery power. It is somewhat inconvenient to get in the vessel with the hatch halfway up for spring and mid-winter work access
Ideas ?
thanks so much

I’ve never actually attempted this but read others can apply 12v into the cigarette lighter at the helm to drive the lift. What I don’t know is whether you can complete that circuit with the batteries disconnected though I would imagine it would work since they’re on isolators.

My 1998 40 DA came with a cigarette lighter adapter to open the hatch in the event of a 12 v power loss. Made by M and G electric, MFG tag is still on it.

As I understand it, they also made some of the breaker panels for Sea Ray.

I've used it a few times, no issues. Worked with all batteries disconnected.

Hello and yes you can “back feed” the power to the lift switch through the cigarette lighter socket even with the batteries disconnected.
I will try to find pics of my set up when I had a 410 Sundancer, I know I posted pics in that forum a couple years ago but let me see what I can find.
