I've got a '98 190 BR w/4.3L Mercruiser. I have just recently rebuilt the engine. When I started the engine to break it in there was an alarm that sounded. It was buzzing as soon as I turned the ignition key on. Once the engine started it normally would shut off. It did not at this time. After about 20 minutes of break in the peizo started to sound funny and finally faded out. Now it never makes a sound. There are two piezo's located under the dash. One is wired into the wiring as per the manual's diagram the other is wired to the depth gauge. Neither one works. As
I have run aground once with no depth alarm sounding. But that's another story. Did this boat come stock with a depth gauge? There are no markings on it for any identification. I have checked all the fluids when I was ready to start the engine for its break in and the fluids are still ok. So I have two alarms that don't work.
