I got an alarm today on my systems monitor on my 2004 320- it said "Port Engine Alarm Diagnositic". Everything was fine with the temp, oil, water, etc. But when I throttled down- it stalled when the rpm's dropped. I started again but had to give it a little throttle to keep it going. Back at the dock- same problem. I'm thinking its the "fuel filter"? Anyone with any further ideas? is it an easy replacement? Thanks

Nevermind--it wasn't the fuel filter. Its in the marina's hands now....we'll see how it turns out

It's probbally your IAC sensor.

Alarm goes off and temp, oil, water pressure all look fine.
Drop the RPM's and the motor wants to stop.
Go into Nuetral and it Dies.
Wont start back up until you advance the throttle.

It's the IAC sensor. right behind the Flame arrestor you'll see an electrical connector going into kind of a roundish peice of metal held in place by some Allen head screws.

Mine went out about 3 weeks ago and kept me off the water for nearly a week. according to the local MM they replace one of these a day on their service calls.

hope thats what it is cause it's not expensive.

thanks= that describes it perfectly - i need to do some more research to see what that is ! But what's really amazing is the name of your boat== the same as mine -- I like it! :smt038

I want to get a spare IAC for my boat. Anyone use the automotive equivalent or should I just go to Marinemax and whip out the card once again?

On my 320 i have "cool fuel" the filter is locate inside this unit. the searay manuel gives ful directions it's preety simple if you can reach it. bacically it's 3 srews and the whole filter/bowl assebly is removed (looks alot like a pool skimmer) the cup holds any gas from spilling, with half a turn the cup removes exposing the filter. Then just reverse the process. realy pretty simple accessablity is the key. I do mine every season. i wish the raw water pump was as easy.
