I have read all the issues with anchor and the light.

Why don't they mount the light on the front of the rail so you can install a windlass, etc?

...

I just bought a used garage stored 2006 240 with about 50 hours time on it. Pretty well loaded...Got about 15 to 20% off new...

...

Why doesn't the 350 engine come with fresh water cooling as an option? Is it standard? Can it be added on? I will taking it into salt water on occasion, though it will be dry docked in between after a run through fresh water.

Is there a concensus on the upgrades needed for the 350 with B3 stern drive for use in salt water?

Regarding the B3 unit, make sure you have the correct anodes for your waters. If there is salinity in the water, use aluminum anodes. And make sure you have all 6 pieces... 2 in the cylinders, 2 in the trim plate, 1 forward plate, and 1 in the prop shaft.

Also, make sure the Mercathode system is installed and working.

You're in good shape since you'll be storing it on a lift. Still, as for flush, there are a few options. Do a search in the forum. How long is your run in fresh water? If there is any salinity in this water, I would still flush it even with the lift.

FWC is an option on the MAG 350 MPI. Since yours doesn't have it, you can still add an after-market DIY kit. Check the MonitorPro system. Keep in mind, even with FWC, there are still RWC components in the system.

Welcome to CSR.
