Ian hearing that after much success within the brand that Tim Schiek has been relieved of his position. Has anyone else heard anything about this? I actually liked what Tim was doing...

I think this is just a continuing piece of their reorganization process. They appointed Brad Anderson to head up the Sport Boat and Sport Cruiser segment based in Tennessee. Some time ago they hired Scott Ward and positioned him in Florida. He is now the head of Sport Yachts and Yachts. Both are competent, high level, "get things done" managers and will make the reorganization seamless both inside and outside the company. The part of this that is unclear from the news release is who and how they will manage the centralized functions like finance, legal, etc. other than to have them report to the head of recreational boats at Brunswick.

My wife and I met Tim Schiek at last years Miami boat show. Very nice guy. Seemed genuinely concerned about issue we had with our new boat as well as why a friend of ours would not buy a Sea Ray. I wish him well in his future endeavors. Article from post #2 says he left to pursue other interest, was not fired - any evidence to the contrary?

"Left to pursue other interests" is corporate speak for "****canned"

Looks to me that they have determined the two sides of the business do not share enough commonality to require a singular lead, so let each division lead itself under corporate guidance.

Ken ....that cuts me deep brother.....Merry Christmas to you and Kathy. Love you guys and hope all is well on the left coast of good 'ole USA.

And of course, thank you all for your support of the crusted old captain. Very humbling, very proud to be your Sea Ray connection...let's stay that way!!!

How many Rustys at SR do you know Ken?
My reply did get the response I wanted! We all know Captain Rusty Higgins, the best ambassador working for Sea Ray! :smt038

As the owner of a small (195 Sport) Sea Ray, I'm glad to see them having separate leads for the smaller boats and for the larger yachts. They really are totally different markets, with different marketing needs and different buyers.
