Very sad of course. This was a rough holiday for our young boaters. Reason #1 why you don't swim near docks.

They think the short was within one of the houseboats and not a marina problem. If the short was in the houseboat, could this happen
on the hook running a generator?

Lake of Ozarks had similar incodent 2 young children were electrocuted at own private dock.Investigation is going on also to figure out what happened.

Real tough day.........very sad. Condolences to all. Add a couple of pool drownings already on Long Island and it's just been real tough news lately. Tragic.

Even when properly installed marine grade wiring still needs to be checked and maintained every season. It seems that the cause is not completely known so lightning strike may be the culprit. The story also does not tell us if adults were swimming with any of the children. It seems they were swimming unattended.

What ever the reason the result is devastating. We pray for their family's and loved ones who are left to deal with the "why" questions.
