Anyone have a Sea Ray 380 Aft Cabin???

Just got mine last week and brought it home Saturday. 1997 370AC. Still have to update my CSR info and signature.

Hey Mark - congrats on the new boat! I didn't even realize you sold your DB. How long were you boatless?

Thanks Ron, sold the Dancer at the end of September so I missed out on the winterization process. I was so upset about it I had to go find something to winterize so I grabbed this aft cabin to make me feel better. Almost bought a 1989 48' Viking Sportfish but they didn't decide to except my offer until after I found this 370AC and by then my focus had changed and I was back on a Sea Ray kick. Mark

Have one since 2005
Been to Alaska with it and to Olyimpia Washington. Put between 200 and 300 hours a year on it.
Has same engines as yours Have 1800 hours on both engines and generator has 1000
If you have any questions about it PM me or post questions
How many hours on your engines

We have been thinking about a 370/380AC. Never been on one but have seen them in marinas. Second cabin and head would be good for grandkids and guests. I like the solid glass hull instead of a cored hull.

What is the gas consumption on your 454's? My engines have 1000 hours on them and the genarator have 600. What RPM do you cruise at to get the best gas mailage??

How much gas do you use per hour at crusing speed? I have to move my boat to it's new home, which is about 120 miles from where it spent the winter.

Yep, got one. We love it. And yes, its good for lot's of people. We have 7 people (family) for a week cruise each year and have had as many as 16 onboard for a day trip.

If you are not in a hurry, it seems to have a sweet spot off-plane at about 9-10 MPH (GPS). On plane, prepare to spend some bucks on gas.

Contact me anytime if I can help you with anything. Have a great season!

Jack

With a full tank how can I make it the 120 miles, in 6 hours or less.

Your tanks hold 150 gallons each for a total of 300. On plane you should be able to do 20 to 22 mph. That's 6 hours. But.....
  • the boat is new to you so you don't really know what mileage you will get - lot's of variables
  • Things go wrong sometimes
  • sea conditions, tides, weather etc all affect progress
  • etc etc
So I would definately plan the trip knowing where I could pull in for fuel and/or repairs, just in case.

Where are you coming from and where going to?

Sorry, I just found your answer.

Have 1100 hr on engines and 600 on gen.

Don't have a engine manual, what type (grade)of oil does it use and where can I find and engine manual????
